Summary

Fully integrated transportation and logistics company (the “Company”) servicing the oil and gas industry is seeking a Director of Field Operations for its Southwest Pennsylvania market (the “Market Area”). The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader who can make an immediate impact to grow and improve operations in the Market Area. The Director of Field Operations is responsible for planning, directing, and implementing activities related to field operations and improvement projects in accordance with Company policies and procedures, customer requirements, labor laws, and budgeted costs. This position supervises logistics personnel and field personnel,  ensuring that all operations proceed in a safe and cost-effective manner. The position will serve as a key member of the operations team and will be accountable for P&L and growth within the Market Area. This position requires a high level of proficiency with customer and frontline operations. This position will be hands on and require quality time spent in the field. The Market Area extends from facilities in Western PA, to Eastern Ohio, and West Virginia.  As a result, candidates who currently live in the Southwestern Pennsylvania area or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania metro area are highly desirable. This position reports directly to the VP of Operations. This is a great opportunity to be a top leader with the Company.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage, coordinate and delegate the work within the Market Area in the areas of: waste management, pad support, , fluid transportation, injury and accident claims prevention, determination of driver utilizations and manpower hours, staffing, and equipment maintenance and risk management
  • Develop and maintain the Market Area operating budget and evaluate budgetary issues in coordination with senior management.
  • Define, document, and monitor key performance indicators for the Market Area
  • Ensure all operations comply with federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership and education in company zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
  • Provide leadership in the areas of onboarding and training of all field personnel within the Market Area.
  • Support Sales efforts within the Market Area. Participate in joint sales calls and meetings when required.
  • Partner with Human Resources and the Safety Department to ensure compliance with company policies in regard to safety, hiring, termination of employees, performance appraisals, and external regulations.
  • Lead and develop supervision within the Market Area, including the establishment of key business objectives for team members
  • Hold effective operations and safety meetings with local management team and drivers.
  • Interact and problem solve with customers, drivers, and staff
  • Define, document, and monitor key performance indicators for the Market Area

Job Requirements

  • Logistics experience in gas and oilfield business
  • Minimum 7 years’ exempt level management experience, including related professional and Supervisory/Managerial experience
  • Strong track record of managing and developing talent
  • Knowledge of financial concepts and techniques utilized to establish value propositions of operational changes
  • Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams
  • Proven experience in logistics management, including terminal management at multiple locations.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proven leadership ability of improving operations
  • Excellent ability to work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines
  • Knowledge/Understanding of DOT safety regulations including driver logs.
  • Demonstrated success managing logistics in a complex environment
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with an exceptional eye for detail
  • Willingness and ability to do what it takes to see work to completion
  • A passion for providing customer service and achieving customer satisfaction

  • Communicate regularly and openly with senior management
